DISCOVER DEE QUILTING PLACE and EXPLORE TUBBLEVILLE

Tubbleville was to be called: Tumbleweed Village but the names were misspelled and written so poorly in the original records. Therefore, the name 'Tubbleville' was declared to be the correct spelling -- and it stuck. The locals preferred the revised name, too. As 'uniqueness' was one of the town's qualities, it will always remain a special place. Everyone that lived there enjoyed the creativity of its citizens.

Town Structure

Developing the town structure and how the buildings would be renewed was an enjoyable task. The most important to consider in this undertaking -- was that the businesses chosen needed to aide or enhance the creative spirit in humankind. More information will be added here as the shops share the journey of discovery and setup in the marketplace in Tubbleville. The main questions for them to answer for their creative pursuit would be:

• Was the craft done in pioneer times and how?   
• Is it still done the same today or how has it changed?

Building 1: Inn = Tubble Inn
The place to stay overnight is now the Tubble Inn.    When visiting be sure to sign in to register your visit with us.  We'd love to hear from you!

Building 2: Tavern = Mumbles Cafe
The tavern has now been converted into a coffeebar called the Mumbles Cafe. A great place to share a coffee and chat with old and new friends. You may also wish to view the Cafe blog while you are there.

Building 3: Town Office
The town office continues its function to provide information for its residents and visitors.  You'll find the newspaper there. Stop by so check the posted messages on the bulletinboard.

Building 4: Small Shops = Dee Marketplace
The small shops in town are all now being combined under one roof, into the market called Dee Marketplace where the studios will showcase local crafts.

Building 5: Schoolhouse
The schoolhouse will still provide learning opportunities in the classrooms and house our library bookshelf and offer local classes.

Building 6: General Store
The online catalogue replaces the items for sale at the brick 'n mortar store in Tubbleville.  More details coming that will feature "Dee Quilts" from Dee Quilting Place.

Building 7:  Museum 
An old building was restored to house the galleries and archives for the museum. Stop in to view the photos of various local crafts in the Gallery.  Or browse through the Archives on the history of Tubbleville and other archived items.  Schoolhouse lessons are available for download there.

Building 8: Train Station = Links
The train station is still a vital part of the community here in Tubbleville and always open for your travels.  We hope you take the Tubble to connect to worldwide events via the electronic world-wide-web.
