WEEDS are
like…
Are
weeds in our world a necessary part of our physical and spiritual development at this point
in time. What? Why? It can’t be! That’s crazy, isn’t it? What is the lesson in all
this?
However, let us
look at it from this perspective - aren’t negative thoughts like weeds, they grow strong and
develop deep roots in our minds. Therefore, usually making them difficult to eliminate
at will?
Then after a
good rain, even some big weeds are relatively easy to pull out – roots and all. Holding
onto the base of the plant and firmly but gently pulling will dislodge them from their place in
the earth.
So, negative
thoughts become more easily dislodged too with a positive change of attitude. Even the strong,
rooted negative thoughts; can be let go from our minds and hearts. It will take a
firm desire and loving nudge, but they can be eliminated from our thought patterns. With
prayer and divine help we can become a better spiritual being while living here on earth. Just
as we were when we began this life’s journey, we all must learn to return to that place,
eventually.
So, even if
weeds may always be in our world, they can be a positive reminder that we also need to
continually uproot the negative thoughts from our lives. This is a continual process
throughout life, and those weed plants will also be there to remind us of our true
purpose.
We need to know
which plants are beneficial to our existence and those that are not. As even some weed plants
are not actually bad, only thought of as such. Therefore, even this is a process of learning
that we should address in our lives.
There are also
those plants that are not weeds to us, that from time to time need to be taken out of their
places, so as to let other plants flourish. So, it is for people to understand that sometimes,
positive actions and assistance needs to be withheld for others to develop strengths and talents
with divine direction, not ours.
If we feel that
weeds are just bad, then we haven’t yet learned the real purpose of everything that exists
– as everything here on earth is here for a divine purpose.
It is our
responsibly to learn from those weeds that are in our lives. And, as we learn those lessons, we
will see why they were necessary for our spiritual development. We must remember that our lives
are to be lived with joyfulness, not despair. Weeds will be removed when the purpose for
their existence has been accomplished.
As the gardener
would comprehend that when the unnecessary plants are removed from their places, the area being
worked begins to show a new radiance not seen for sometime. A clean, fresh start to what was a
tangled mess. Everything left standing regains its place and can reach out to the source of
light and become strong and healthy once again. This revitalizes not just the plants, but the gardener
as well.
So stay strong
and believe that good does prevail. To everything there is a purpose and lesson to be
learned. It is then that we move on to the next step.
